But these issues do exist and if you care about details in such places, you might want to give the cam pass. Many have. But as I said, many are happy.Kim Letkemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09385760559949803522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6172173779403995487.post-14959800626151030692010-05-20T03:46:55.930-04:002010-05-20T03:46:55.930-04:00I noticed aready that some of the images from the ...I noticed aready that some of the images from the HS10 looked more like paintings then photograps. Especially when cropped. Now i also know why, thanks for this informative review. Im a bit jalous of the big zoom capability but it seems a to big sacrifice in IQ compared to what im shooting with now.Dirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10248877998069481926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6172173779403995487.post-56126050812718167302010-04-27T10:42:21.868-04:002010-04-27T10:42:21.868-04:00GD: Thanks for the kind words. I have no doubt that Fuji simply bungled that feature ... kudos to them for swiftly reacting.

Note that I have no access to the HS10 right now.Kim Letkemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09385760559949803522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6172173779403995487.post-89527328789501212172010-04-27T07:47:25.728-04:002010-04-27T07:47:25.728-04:00Hi Kim, sorry your FTF foray was short lived. Any chance you will be able to assess the vakue of the firmware update that is meant to rectify "mushy detail"?Giorgiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12599949150577240022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6172173779403995487.post-53630397242855878392010-04-24T09:13:00.237-04:002010-04-24T09:13:00.237-04:00neos66: Mush comes from all sorts of issues ... sh...neos66: Mush comes from all sorts of issues ... shooting at too high an ISO, shooting into shadow with a very small sensor, camera shake, missed focus ... most of that is preventable. What is not preventable is the shadow areas of images shot with cameras like the ZS3 and any EXR camera in high res mode. There will be mush in the shadow areas no matter what you do.Kim Letkemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09385760559949803522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6172173779403995487.post-67406408964152307902010-04-24T04:16:04.761-04:002010-04-24T04:16:04.761-04:00Thanks for explaining, it helped me much to unders...Thanks for explaining, it helped me much to understand some of the techs behind Fuji´s sometimes quite unclear thinking.
