This blog is my personal space. Do not confuse this with statements or opinions on behalf of any employer I have ever had, have now, or will ever have in the future.
Kim, after all f70exr zs3 rounds is there a winner? Trying to choose one them for backpacking and hiking in some cases not a lot of natural light. I have been leaning towards the f70exr because of the reviews I have read on its low light quality. I'm not a pro by any means. Which would you choose? Thx
Smoky1 ... basically, the F70EXR easily wins when the light gets dim. I showed that one one of the rounds when I was shooting birds in the bush and on people. No contest ,,, the F70 got lots of fun shots while the ZS3 failed miserably. So I would choose the F70EXR for general purpose imaging every time. The ZS3 is strictly a video cam for me. Once in a while I get caught with only that cam and I make the best of it, but I miss the F70 when I don't have it.
Kim, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Can't believe how hard it was to find someone who knows these two camera's. I currently do no editing to my pictures. I may in the future just have never tried. Knowing that would you still chose the f70 over the zs3 and how about the ease of use between the two? Thanks again.
Smoky1, each of these cams has an automatic mode that does a pretty good job. But I suggest that you try my "how to shoot" posts to see the magic settings that make the F70 a joy to use. Search my blog (top left) for those words in quotes.
