Ministry of Transport

Yes, the nightmare continued this morning … had to drive over to get the ownership reissued for the Acura that was destroyed by that asshole in an F150 …

MOT licensing office in Kanata had an interruption in service for credit and debit services … and there are *no* debit machines anywhere in that mall.

Wow …

Not only that, but they were happy to *not* tell me where the nearest one was … the next mall over had no banking facilities so the nightmare continued … that is until I found a 20 lying around in a pocket. By this point I had a raging headache as the blood pressure was through the roof …

The girl was nice enough to provide me with glasses so I could read the 1 point fonts, but my less than cheery attitude (a continuation from my previous visit) caused them to be laughing about how they have rights too and that they aren’t gonna take that any more …

I was sitting across the room but easily overheard this … my only thought was that they sure do have their rights … the primary right being to collect their salaries from the taxes I pay …

Anyway … I paid my 10 bucks CASH and walked away with the new ownership … just waiting for confirmation that the scans were received by my insurance adjuster and the cash released to me for the car … we have a line on a couple of good options to replace the Acura 1.6  … one is dirt cheap and one is really reliable, having been rebuilt by my mechanic … we are destined to make the wrong choice :-)

go with the really reliable. glad you finally got the thing. So, having spent 2 years thinking about, researching, looking for, finding and buying my new vehicle, I find out the Corolla is being recalled due to a small, VERY minor (!!) problem with the throttle. I'm driving a ticking time-bomb, with my hand always on the shifter in case I have to quickly shift into neutral...and then turn it off, which will melt the power steering but at the same time, stop the car, which is ideal. Waiting for my letter so I can march in there and get it fixed. Damn you, Toyota!!!

Well, we have the Lumina in the driveway. We'll be takling it to the mechanic tomorrow for evaluation and he will have the Honda there. So Nick can see both at the same time. I guess we'll see which one wins ...

Greg's parents have a Lumina (early 90's) very reliable BUT they are Sunday drivers :-) Can't say for sure, but Honda sounds more reliable than Chevy. Just one crazy chick's opinion!

Turns out the Honda sold last night, but the Lumina passed with flying colors. All new breaks, excellent condition underneath, engine runs "sweet" according to Rick ... it's all good. We are proceeding with the safety check and then the purchase. Nick's friends have already dubbed it the H.M.S. Lumina ... it's that big :-)

WOW!!.....
Looks like the whole world is all at fault for your troubles. And it seems like that somehow you should be exempt from all of life's bad tidings from happening to you and that everybody in this world should bow over to your every whim to correct things when they do go wrong.
Even the kind lady who gracefully lent you her glasses got an ear load by the sound of things, and she should have been grateful that your pay her wages.....how egotisical.
You built up a nice blog with a lot of good stuff about cameras. But you seem bent on tearing all that good work down with your anger and your big ego.
Go away and re-read you last blog entry again and now think about the person who is directed here "for the very first time" for camera related stuff. Do you honestly expect them to explore your blog or come back again when they see your rants and the filty language that you use in them?

Anonymous 1: "Even the kind lady who gracefully lent you her glasses got an ear load by the sound of things" -- I wrote nothing of the sort. "Do you honestly expect them to explore your blog or come back again when they see your rants and the filty[sic] language that you use in them?" First off -- it's filthy, and second, the word asshole has been used many times in this blog to describe the individual that hurt my son and destroyed that car. This is an ongoing PITA that has caused me great stress and your over sensitivity to one word is not my concern. And yes, I think they should be grateful for the fact that we all pay their salaries and not make snide comments when people walk in who are clearly stressed.

Anonymous 2 -- grow up.

Anonymous ones ... I allowed one of you to make your point ... once. The two of you are having a juvenile fit on my blog and that I will not allow. So take your neuroses to someone else's playground please.

*sigh* ... I told you that anonymous sniping is not going to survive ... so if you choose to grow a pair and identify yourself by name, you are welcome to say whatever you like. Of course, if it is simply childish name calling it won't survive anyway.

The H.M.S. Lumina is bought and paid for, insured and safetied ... and on the road all legal-like. And I quite like this car ... smooth and quiet ... like driving around on your couch :-)

Sorry anonymous, but you misrepresent the facts as they are and you are continuing your juvenile tirade. Give us your name or just buzz off. Of course, you childish post is wiped along with the rest of yours ... except the first which I allow to stand as you making whatever point you think you have.
