Wow … my third movie in two days. Well, this one appealed to me from the previews, and I was definitely not disappointed. I love revenge movies, because I like to see the bad guys get their comeuppance.
And get their comeuppance they do in this movie … pretty much in spades. This movie does not have the twists of Book of Eli or Dear John, but it does not play out exactly as you wish either.
Mel Gibson is in really fine form here. It was worth the 7 year wait to see him acting again. I hope he does not make us wait that long again.
Violent, yes. And the violence catches you sometimes in stunning fashion. But it fits the movie perfectly, and so is exactly what was needed.
Perhaps you already have sussed my opinion, but this is one great movie. See it if you like revenge movies, see it if you like Mel, or just see it because it’s fun and entertaining.
