Ah Fuji .... you still have not fixed the audio on your digicams ... F70EXR sucks as concert recording cam ...

Wow ... am I ever disappointed ... the F70EXR was looking like the perfect concert cam, until I tested it with real bass in my car ... the kind that wakes the neighbors I mean ...

And it has problems very similar to the F11 ... what an annoying discovery ...

Now I have a decision to make ... since the G10 found its way home for now, I can just take the F70EXR back and call it a day ... but then what? All the other brands are going to do a better job of video recording (duh) ... but none will be as good at still images. This totally sucks ...

Perhaps trading up to the G11 is the answer ... just live with the loss of resolution and the size of the beast ... *sigh* ...

Anyway ... here's the test ... the worst is at the end, but you might find some of the songs amusing for various reasons ... (Has Been comes to mind :-)

Wow, not fun.
Seriously, I have only occasionally tried small-sensor camera video even at concerts (the last being Peaches when she hit Dallas a couple of months ago). Here is a link to one of the shorter ones I shot (f60fd), it too suffers from bass-blast.

Does the G10/11 do much better? If it does and if it stabilizes during video it may well be worth it (and should the same apply to the S90 I would really be considering that one too!)

Yeah, the G10 does much better. I have something approaching a dozen videos on youtube from the G10 and the sound is great 99% of the time. If only the cam was smaller and had slightly better high ISO. But the F70EXR has amazing reach as well ...

Bass response is the least of its problems. Why can they not get rid of the zooming noise in the video? The autofocus while zooming sucks too. Not to mention the lackof HD...

If video is that important to you, there are better options. The AF issue is minor ... but I don't like noises from the cam in the video.
