Screw the People? Oh yeah ...

My post last week documented the painful process of finding out that our provincial government has passed into law some hugely unfair provisions for people who are the victims of an accident.

Well ... the province is not our only government who seems to have lost its way. In fact, the feds appear to have become rather sleazy in the last few years, having chosen twice in two years to shut down the government completely (proroguing) instead of simply adjourning to allow the government to continue functioning in the background.

Had they done it the non-sleazy way, they may have been defeated last year in a confidence motion, which would have been a good thing as they needed the spanking. Had they done it the non-sleazy way this year, we might have had their bungling in Afghanistan completely exposed for the public to see ...

But alas, that just won't happen now, will it ...

Have a look at this site and this site to read more about it ...

Governments ... can't live with 'em .... can't hold 'em accountable ... at least, not in Canada.

There is a rally on Parliament Hill today. My friend Don is heading in to town to participate. It was his facebook entry that alerted me to these excellent links. And I just realized that I should have credited him earlier ... Sorry Don.
