Take a few crops of heads in a shot at night with really slow shutter through windows in two of three cases, then blow those crops up to 300% ... the heads are pin sized on the normal frame.
What should you see? Well, in this case, you see faces and heads ... not sharp, but definitely resolvable ...
Amazingly decent ...

This is a Sony sample shot and I don't know if they used a tripod. It is impressive either way ...
